Wolf 1970
As it has been said, things get broken.
I feel as if I've been in a bubble of great creativity and profound lack of manifestation.
My muse, my form, my dress form companion....Betty, has been broken for quite sometime.
When I had my shop downtown I would find her on a regular basis out front in the elements, a windy day crushed a miserably critical part of my form and made her damn near unusable. I feel lost with out her, and no surprise that she is the last of my studio to pack. I feel as if once boxed that all vision and creativity will go on hold, but I can't even use her in the state she is in. It's almost torture to see her this way. My mind can cloak her in fabric and designate the finest of details, but I know an actual rendering would be useless as she is now. Any one that has had a muse, a originator of ideas, or tool for manifestation of ideas knows what it's like to be without.
After the great move she is destined to be repaired, brought back to her glory. I'm thankful that the wolf form folks can fix her, my heart would ache not to continue this creative journey with out her.

My machine
I get asked a LOT about sewing machines.
What do I like, what is best to work with, prices, etcetera.
Well when I'm not using my antiquated industrial Singers and Union Specials, I have particular fondness for my home machines.
I guess I'll start with one machine this week.
The Sophia by baby lock.
This is a fairly new purchase for me.
I love that it has needle up or down upon stoping sewing, a really easy to use needle threader, lots of decorative stitches, a couple alphabet stitches, and an embroidery capability.
With so much to choose from on the market this machine hit the features I was looking for right now.
It sews quietly, and has an intuitive set up to get going fast.
Once my studio is set up again I will revisit this particular machine with video and images of it in use. I hope to one day do a comparison of it and like machines in my studio. I'm looking at you Bernina and brother.

Moving fire
A great shift in my life is imminent. I've never lived any where but Austin, but soon Denver is to be my home. In so many ways I'm excited for this adventure. I am however nervous about things that feel so out of control..... And this makes me uncomfortable, unsure, and uneasy. I'm learning in my 40's to do my best to lay to rest all that is out of my control so I hope through this bout of being uncomfortable I find my new fire.
A fire that inspires a great new work space
Kindling to bring forth new designs
Stoking fashion friendships
A burning desire to become what I'm destined
A scorching love affair with my husband
Roasting memories over camp fires with my kin
Reserving embers enough to follow through with my health ideals
I am a Phoenix, and so are you.

New year!
So it's 2015. As with most resolutions this one is with the intention to do and be more.
So, I dedicate weekly a new post on things I'm working on, packing my studio up, setting up a new studio in Denver, tools I love, my health journey, and my family. Please join me in this process, and I promise to learn something about myself and impart as much as I can here.

Wild Nights
I get a lot of requests, and I'm with you! I want a fun bra in my size!
I started the Lovely, Luxurious, and Limited collection to offer that super sexy and fun underpinning to alleviate the monochromatic selection in your intimates drawer. I started with a cotton base for this series, as many of you were wanting to go as natural as you could for a bra and panty set. Once this set is gone it's gone! Come for your fitting experience today, and use your GoLocal card to get 10% off this set while it lasts! December is the last month for the leopard print, and will feature our second most requested underwire style! The new year will bring a softer side of luxe in a custom created set of fabrics.......stay tuned!
November is upon us, and with it brings a sense of playfulness and shapely goodness. My Lovely, Luxurious, and Limited collection is in full stock! Our most popular style bra in a blithe cotton print, indulgent fuchsia lace, and mother of pearl accent. Paired with an all cotton thong this is our most requested pairing. Bras 32B-38F, thongs S-XL.

Shaded Love
Soft light emerges though the window of my shop each morning. This play of light through the drapes and the proper neatness of a hundred year old kimono silk inspired this set. The smokey clouds on the silk jaquard kimono lent themselves to evoke that perfect quiet moment before all of the creatvity begins to pour out.
Demi bra and high waited panty composed of vintage silk kimono, hand dyed, embelished with sterling silver and blush quartz details.
